President's Message

Hello Sorors and Friends!

I have the esteemed honor of serving as the 31st President of the Miami Alumnae Chapter. Our chapter was founded on June 9, 1941, by women who had a vision for change in this community. They followed the vision of our Founders, who were determined to make IMPACT. As a community member, I know that you are here to learn more about our great organization and this chapter.

Our organization’s first act was the Women’s Suffrage March in 1913, which sole purpose was advocacy for women. This chapter continues fighting for people in the South Florida area through our many advocacy projects and activities. They include mental health forums, seminars on finance, homeownership and budgeting, bookbag collection projects, and voting rights activities to ensure everyone has a right to vote. These programs are geared toward building a better future for this community.

In addition, this chapter is proud to support young girls’ education through the Debutante program. This program is designed to cultivate, motivate, and educate young girls in the South Florida community. Through this program, Miami Alumnae has given $30,000 in scholarships annually to deserving young ladies in the South Florida community — more than $380,000 in scholarships have been awarded to date. This is a testament to our commitment to educating the youth of this community. As you can see, Miami Alumnae Chapter is serving the Miami-Dade community with a willing heart and dedicated service to ensure its sustainability.

The members of the chapter are dedicated and ready to serve. Their willingness to ensure that we advocate for community issues that affect us is done through our sorority’s national Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, which includes Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health and Political Awareness and Involvement. Our primary purpose is to positively IMPACT the SOUTH FLORIDA community. Thank you so much for visiting our site and please support our programs and activities that are truly making a difference in South Florida.

Thank you
